Ms Smith joined Edinburgh from the Scottish Government in March 2013 where she was Director of Learning and Head of Policy Profession. She spent a secondment year with the University in 2007 as Associate Vice-Principal and was largely responsible for devising the University’s Internationalisation Strategy.
Areas of responsibility

    Secretary to the University Court, the University's governing body
    Overall management of the University Secretary's Group which comprises 800 staff (approx 440 FTEs)
    Overall responsibility for a range of central professional services including development and alumni; international; communications and marketing; student services; governance and strategic planning; human resources and internal audit.
